OPEN TO: All students currently enrolled in elementary, middle,
or high schools ages 4-18yrs in the San Francisco Unified School District; Unified School Districts of the Bay Area & Northern California
GUIDELINES: All submissions MUST include:
• A group name
• A listing of all participants’ names and ages in the group; groups may have a minimum of 5 participants and a maximum of 10
• A contact persons’ name, address, phone number, and email address
• A complete outline of the community service provided defining how your project brings hope to others and/or provided a community service … maybe for a day, 3 days, a week or a month … was it a one time project? Project will be continued?

Community service can include but not limited to

Visiting the sick and shut in, hospitals, youth facilities,…

Serving the homeless

Reading/literacy services to children, disabled, or seniors

The 2007 MLK Annual Youth & Family Day event is part of the Northern California Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration festivities. The Youth & Family day is scheduled for Saturday, January 13, 2007 in and around our extraordinary MLK Memorial Site in Yerba Buena Gardens. There will be several other great activities to follow that will include story-telling, entertainment-education performed by and performed for children/youth/young adults, film screenings, and other activities, including a Candlelight Vigil as indicated on the MLK website www.norcalmlk.org link 1.15.2007 MLK Youth & Family Day.
